Bank lending growth in Romania accelerates in April
BUCHAREST (Romania), May 28 (SeeNews) – The value of outstanding loans from Romanian banks to the non-governmental sector increased by 8.3% year-on-year to reach 293.6 billion lei (72.7 billion dollars / € 59.7 billion) in April, up from 6.6% growth in March, the central bank BNR said.
Private lei lending rose 13.5 percent over the year to 206.4 billion lei in April, after rising 11.3 percent in March, BNR said in a statement on Thursday.
Private foreign currency loans fell 2.3% over the year to 87.1 billion lei in April, from 3% in March.
