Netflix UK releases in December 2021 – new movies and TV shows

Last Christmas Netflix brought us something for everyone, from the first season of Bridgerton and the musical The Prom, to the famous Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, the latest on-screen performance by the late Chadwick Boseman.

Equally rich and varied is this year’s December roster, from Jane Campion’s upcoming Oscar nominee The Power of the Dog, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as a brutal cowboy, to Sandra Bullock’s The Unforgivable and the highly anticipated Don’t Look Up, the disaster movie starring Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio.

There’s also the long-awaited second season of The Witcher, the fantasy adaptation starring Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan, plus an all-new heartwarming festive dish including Single All the Way.

And if that’s not enough, you can ring in the New Year with the upcoming psychological thriller The Lost Daughter, adapted from the book of the same name by Elena Ferrante, and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Read on for our pick from the December roster – and if you’re looking for November Netflix releases including A Boy Called Christmas and Aardman’s Robin Robin, we’ve got that covered as well.
