Where were we not filmed alive? Netflix Filming Locations
Netflix’s “No One Gets Out Alive” is a horror drama centered on Ambar, a Mexican immigrant who moves to America in the hope of a better life without the knowledge of the horrors that lie ahead. In desperation, she is forced to live in a run-down boarding house in Cleveland where things suddenly take a bleak turn. Gruesome visions and terrifying voices quickly show that Ambar is in the presence of something demonic and that she needs to do something before it’s too late.
Directed by Santiago Menghini, the film captures the protagonist’s unsettling nightmares by ingeniously using eerie voices, dark score, and suggestive supernatural visuals that are enough to frighten anyone. So, it is only natural that anyone would want to know where the movie was shot. If you are looking for similar information, let us be your guide!
No one leaves the filming locations alive
The horror film was filmed in several locations including Romania, the United States and the United Kingdom. The production would have taken place in the fall of 2020, more precisely in the months of September and October. The cast and crew have been spotted roaming the streets of some European cities while not busy filming. Curious about what exactly these cities were? Let’s look at each of them.
Located on the banks of the Dâmbovița river, a significant part of the filming took place in Bucharest, in southern Romania. The city is known as the industrial and financial center of the South Eastern European country. Over the decades, the culture of the region has had a profound influence on theater, cinema and music. The performing arts are deeply embedded in the culture of Bucharest, and there are countless theaters throughout the city that cater to the gender-specific interests in art of the locals.
Bucharest is also a sought-after filming location, and over the years well-known films like “Voyagers”, “War Dogs”, “What Happened to Monday” and “Cold Mountain” have been shot in the city. David Figlioli, who plays Becker in the film, shared some photos while in Romania for the horror film set.
Filming for the Netflix movie was also done at multiple locations in Cleveland, Ohio. The city of Cleveland is one of the world’s most popular film production centers and has also served as the setting for many independent movies and TV shows. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the production team chose Cleveland as one of the “No One Gets Out Alive” filming locations.
Cleveland is famous for its vibrant arts and culture scene, beautiful parks, and musical history. The Greater Cleveland Film Commission manages production in the area, and some films shot in the city include “The Deer Hunter”, “The Escape Artist” and “A Christmas Story”.
London is apparently one of director Santiago Menghini’s many filming locations. One of the world’s financial centers, the city is the third largest film production center in the world and boasts one of the largest theater audiences in the world. Big Smoke’s influence on the film industry cannot be overstated. It is home to studios like Elstree and Borehamwood, Shepperton, Twickenham and Ealing, all located in or on the outskirts of town.
